Reference: the life size sculpture was originally done for an exhibition at the Royal Academy in 1886; see the excellent overview on the Royal Academy of Arts web site which owns drawings and the life size plaster; the final large bronze was presented to the Tate Museum by Sir Henry Tate in 1894; this early edition was cast by JW Singer and Sons of Frome Somerset
